A WEDDING IN PRISON.

At the Novgorod prison chapel (saye the Peterburgskia Gazette) a curious couple was recently married. A young fellow of the name of Zumiski, who had been sentenced to a term of imprisonment for fourteen years and six montha with hard labour, married a young girl who was the daughter of a soldier, YcfrcraofT, and had only been released from the Novgorod prison at tlio beginning of the present year. Zumiski had told hie brother of hig intention to marry, but tha latter thought the prisoner insauo, deeming it impossible that auy woman could be persuaded to marry a convict. Hβ was, however, convinced of the truth by the prison administration consenting to tho marriage. On the wedding day tho warder appeared in the prisoner's cell, his chains! were removed, ho was dressed in a black suit, and taken to chapel, where the bride appeared with tho bridegrooin'B brother, dressed in ii white bridal drcs3 and veil. At two o'clock tho ceremony was begun, several prisoners assisting. Ono hour tho newly-married were allowed to spend together in their call, the warder drinking their health and then retiring to leavo them aiono with a steaming teaurn and a sentinel at tho door. During the whole of tho ti:uo the husband tried to persuade his wife to go with him to the convict colony to which he will shortly be despatched.
