VERDICT OF MANSLAUGHTER

|BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Dunedin, Friday. The inquest in the blasting accident was concluded to-day, when the jury returned a verdict that Mrs. Finch came to her death by a stoue projected by a blast firod on the 17th ; that the said blast was unskilfully planned and overcharged, and that proper and safe appliances were not provided by the Corporation. Tho coroner said it was a verdict of manslaughter, but the jury said they could not alter it, excopt it might bo to add, "Consequently we consider the CorporaC:on liable." The coroner said they could not find a verdict of felony agaiust a Corporation, but the jury again decided they could not alter the verdict.
