SPORTING.

AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB: The club was again favoured with splendid weather for the conclusion of tho match for the Shareholders' Cup at Plumpton Park yesterday, and although the day was not, as on the previous one, a public holiday, there was a large attendance; and the bookmakers, relieved from attendance at ordinary races, mustered in force, and a considerable amount of betting took place. There was excellent sport. The hares were in fine form, and the slip stewards (Moms. Geary and Fenton) displayed a great amount of care and judgment, for if a'weak or faulty hare happened to get out, there was no slip until a better and stronger puss put in an appearance. Towards the finish there was a considerable amount of interest and excitement shown; and when the winner turned up in Musk, Mr. Todd's fawn bitch, a good ■ deal of money changed hands.
