A large quantity of Iruit has come to hand from local groweis and also from Hobart, Nelson. &c.. that from Hobart in very bad condition. These imports have kept the price of local low, but still some good samples of local pears and grapes have brought good prices. Plum* have still sold at low prices, owing to the quantity sent in. Potatoes have moved eff freely, ana aI good sample ; many lots are very small and interior.. Cheese has met with good demand, Bacon : Only first-class sells fteely ; lecood-clasa difficult to get off at any price. Butter: But little to hand, demand limited. Monday: sale of unredeemed pledges, from Mr. , Asber, pawnbroker. There was a good attendance, a quantity sold, but prices averaged low. Tuesday: ale of household furniture, etc., at mart. A fair attendance, bidding rather languid, still a | good busiuets was done. Wednesday: Clearing-out sale of groceries, etc., at Mr. Carter's, Wellingtonstreet. The attendance was not large ; bidding fairly brisk, and all sold at satisfactory prices. Fruit sale at mart was well attended. Hobart froit was in very bad order, almost worthless.
