CONSPIRACY TO DEFRAUD THE GOVERNMENT.
[BY TELBGRAFK. — PRKSB ASSOCIATION.] (jHRisTcnuHCH, Thnrsday. The conspiracy cases were concluded to-day in the Supreme Court. All the accused not previounly tried, except Francis Gillard, vrho was afterwards convicted, pleaded guilty. Thos. Hough was sentenced to two years' hard labour, W. P«rcival, Patrick Kellehpr, Henry fllark, Frances Gillard, Gco. Dan's, Jno. Koskero, Robt. Dudley. Thoa. McDonnell, Wm. Thomas, and Robert Campbell received three months' imprieonment with hard labour, and Geo. Willmott two monthn' imprisonment with hard labour. Justice Johnston said he looked upon Hough as the instigator of the conspiracy, ae without him it oould not have existed. He had been particularly struck with the respectable appearance of the men. Hongh had tampered with them, and looked upon this as the worst feature in tho case —that respectable honest men of their kind have been made thieves. Tho criminal sessione are thus concluded, after lasting eleven days.
