(BY telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] DtTNEDiN, Monday. Messrs. Dowse, Philp, and Gourley (the handicappers) have forwarded to the D. J.C. their resignations. One of the reasons for this course is the abuse to. which they were subjected at the last meeting by one of the stowards in the presence of and without the interference of the other stewards. In my notes yesterday I mentioned the fact of Mr. Marshall's colt Thunderbolt having been claiming a good deal of attention of late in connection with the forthcoming V.K.O. Derby and Cup, and that his departure for Australia might be looked for at an early date. When I penned those remarks I was, like most others, under the impression that the colt was to be sent over in Mr. Marshall's name, but it now transpires that the unbeaten son of Musket has been purchased on behalf of the Hon. W. Robinson. The exact price paid for the colt has not transpired, but it is believed to be between 1500 and 2000 guineas. Thunderbolt will.be shipped by the s.s. Manapouri, which leaves for Sydney to-day, at which place he will join the Hon. Mr. Robinson's team, who are at present being trainnd there by Mr. R. Mason.

The steeplechasers Macaroni and Ngata have arrived to fulfil their engagements at the A.R.C. meeting. Phaeton.
