MUTUAL LIFE ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALASIA.
It was recently announced that this Institution had established a branch for the South Island, with the head office at Chrietchurch, the Hon. William Reeves, M.L.C., and Mr. H. R. Webb, J.P., being local directors. An advertisement in another colnmn notifies that Mr. George Gill, who has for some years been Secretary for the Association at Adelaide, has been appointed resident Secretary of the new branch. In addition to the recent acquisition of valuable properties in Dunedin and Christohurch, Mr. Remington, the Secretary of the Association, who is now on a visit to this colony, is., negotiating for the purchase of a central site in Wellington, and is arranging for the erection of magnificent premises in Queen-street, Auckland. The whole of these extensions involve an expenditure of some £50,000. the policy of the Sydney Board of Directors being to invest all revenue in the colony from which it accrues.
