WANGANDI RACE 3. [by telegraph.—press association.] Wanganci, Friday. The attendance on the racecourse to-day was about the same as yesterday. The weather was cloudy in. the early part of the day, bat cleared np afterwards. The racing generally was good, bnt the pot boiled over in the Cup, Leonora and Fueilier (the favourites) not being placed. The only protest daring the meeting was laid in the laat Hack Race by Cox, owner of Germaine, bat afterwards withdrawn. . The horses got well away, Gipsy leading, Tally-ho next, Dusk last. Passing the stand Tally-ho came to the front, and held the lead to the back of the coarse, when Dusk pushed ahead and passed the rest, Tally-ho falling to the rear. Dusk won in a canter, Gip»y four lengths, and Tally-ho twelve lengths behind. Time, 2mins. 24 2-sthe sees. Tally-ho was the favourite. Totalisator dividend—lnside, £2 19s; outside, £2 7s. Jim got the lead, and kept it past the stand the first time, Scrutineer closely following. At the second hurdle Pathfinder was close behind Maccaroni, and in jumping, Maccaroni lifted Pathfinder's jockey (Potto) clean out of the saddle, but be was not injured. (Scrutineer then took the lead, Totara, Jim, and Druid being close up. Coining to the stand again, Maccaroni took the second place. Totara then came to the front, and Scrutineer fell to the rear. Jim then took np the running, and got the third place and gained rapidly on the leaders. There was a hard struggle up the straight, Jim winning by two lengths. They finished in the following order :—Jim, Totara, Maccaroui, The Druid, True Blue, Widewake, Caoutchouc. Time, 4mins. 26secs. Totalisator, inside 451 subscriber?, 163 on winner, dividend £2 ; outside 157 subscribers, 62 on winner, dividend £2 sa. Hack Hobdle Race of lOaovs. ; 1 mile and a distance.—Twelve ran. Won by Loch Lomond, who held a good position all through; Halicore second. At the second hurdle The Lamb knocked the hurdle down, and fell,, two others falling on the top. None of the riders were irjjured. Time, 2mins. 20 4-ssecß. Dividend £2 Bs, 282 subscribers ; outside —dividend £3 13s, 110 subscribers. Wanganui Cup of SOOeovs. 2£ miles. Speculation (late Hippodamia), 7st Slbs (McOormick) 1 Bayard, 7et 2lbe (Woods) 2 Sir Bedevere (7a 4lbe) ... 3 Fusileer fourth, Ahua fifth, Leonora sixth, Clogs seventh. This was a good race. Sir Bedevere led from the start, and led for half the distance, the first mile being done in lmin. 57seca. Leonora then went to the front, but only led for a short time, Speculation and Bayard coming up, the latter leading till the straight was reached, when Speculation made a big try for it, and got a length in front at the post, both whipping, Sir Bedevere being three lengths behind, the second horse, Leonora, bein£ a long way behind. Time, 4mins. 17 l-sch sees. Totalisator dividend : Inside, £224 subscribers, 18 on winner, and the dividend was £22 Bs. Outside, 382 subscribers, 20 on the winner, the dividend was £8 Us. The betting was six to four on the field, Leonora and Fusileer being the favourites, the hitter's running the day before being much fancied. WANGANUI CUP WINNERS.

At PalmerstonSouth races to-day, the Cup was won by Mokarakara (Sat albs), beating Adamant (Oat 51bs) easily. In another column we publish the programme of the Takapun* Jockey Club's autumn meeting, which is fixed to take place on the 11th of April. There are neven events on the programme, the principal of which are the Autumn Handicap of lOOsovs., the Hurdle Race of 50sovs., and the Steeplechase of SOsovs. Tne weights for the handicaps will appear on Wednesday, 7th April, and the acceptances and general entries will be received on the 9th instant. The programme is a liberal one, the amount of added money eachiug £325.
