[from our own correspond knt ] Hamilton, Tuesday. A meeting of the Borough Council was held last night, when the . time for reviewing tenders for the Hood-street culvert and works was postponed till the next meeting. An attempt to put another permanent workman on the roads was resisted, the overdraft being still £580, and a large amount of rates being still uncollected. A meeting of the Domain Board was held subsequently, when a further communication was received from the Secretary of the Sydney Zoological Society stating that he was uncertain whether it would be possible to obtain the ova of the Murray cod for transmission, but that an opportunity would be found for Bending a person over with live fish. This would cost £25, in addition to the freight. This was considered beyond the means of the Board, unless assisted by private subscription! or the work were jointly undertaken by some other body interested in obtaining this fish. The matter was referred to a committee to report what course should be pursued. The time for transporting the fish would be in June next.
