SEVERE FIGHTING AT KASSALA. THE EGYPTIAN GARRISON DEFEATED. [BY ELECTRIC telegraph.—copyright.] [RECTBR'S telegram.] Cairo, March 2. Intelligence is to hand from Kassala, in the Soudan, that the Egyptian garrison recently made a sortie from that place. A large force of rebels was encountered, and heavy fighting ensued. The Egyptians were finally repulsed with heavy losses, and compelled to fall back on the town. . f Cairo, March 2. Major-General Buller has arrived from Gakdul at headquarters. PRINCE HASSAN. Cairo; March 2. Prince Hassan, the Khedive's brother, who has been appointed Governor of the Soudan and Commander of the Egyptian troops therein, has started for Korti.
