The schooner Cygnet left last evening for Tonga; and with this trip ends the Cygnet as a vessel owned at this port, as she will, on her arrival at Tonga, be handed over to her new owners, the natives there. The Cygnet has been greatly altered since her last arrival here, her cabin having been enlarged, and she has been ■applied with new rigging and gear throughout, so that she has left our port in a state as near that of a yacht as it is possible to make her, and as such she is for the future to.be kept. - 7.'he Customs steam launch has at last been condemned, and the (team launch Result is to be used in her stead, and until such times as a new launch can be built. We are glad to learn that the Government have at list woke up to the serious defects of the old launch, and it is to be hoped no time will be lost in getting a suitable boat built and placed in commission. The Union Company's steamship Tarawera took her departure for Southern porta and Melbourne at noon yesterday. She was woll patronised by passengers. , The e.s. Clan-man, from Russell and Northern ports,' arrived in harbour yesterday morning early with passengers and cArgo. The ship Lady Jocelyn is putting out her cargo in excellent order and with rapidity. The schooner Fleetwing left on her cruise for the Samoan Group yesterday. She is to return from there direct with a cargo of copra to the consignment of Captain D. H. McKonzie. The Union Company's s.s. Arawata arrived In harbour at 11 p.m. last night from Wellington. She brings a number of passengers, per Tongariro from London, and also some 260 tons of cargo by the same steamer. She left Wellington at 8.30 p.m. on the 7th instant passed the head« at 9.15, Cape Palliser at 1 a.m. on the 3th, Portland Island at 3.45 p.m. on the Bfch, East Cape at 1.15 a.m. on the 9th, and arrived as_ above. Experienced fresh northwesterly winds and fine weather to arrival. The French barquentine Louise, whilst going into the Kaipara, struck several times on the Tory Shoal.
