ACTION AGAINST THE UNION COMPANY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS. ASSOCIATION.] Chbistchuboh, Wednesday. The Wakatipu, which should have sailed South to-day, is detained pending the examination of some of her officers and orew in the trial Fuchs v. Union Steamship Company, in which the plaintiff seeks to' recover £1000 for the loss of his wife's foot. Mrs. Fuch'f foot was crashed by the gangway one morning whea excursionists were landing on a return from trip to A paroa about this time last year. The present is a new trial on the ground of additional evidence. The former trial resulted in a verdict for the defendants.
