CHURCH OF ENGLAND GRAMMER SCHOOL AQUATIC SPORTS.

The first annual aquatic sports of the above school were held in Judge's .Bay on Friday the 4th of April. Subjoined are the events ■— Swimmin? -Race, 220 yards, open to al!,—p Smith, 1; Rylance, 2; E. Cave, 3. Vetr pluckily swum by Cave, and almost a dead heat between Kylance and himself. 4min T 25secs. Swimming Race, 150 yards, boys between i? and 14.. G. Hull, 1; B. Smith, 2. Smim. 45seci. Long DiTe, open to all.—F. Smith, 1; Rj. lance, 2. Long Dive, boyß between 12 and 14,—a Hull, 1; O. Dawson, 2. Swimming Race, 40 yards, boys under 12.— S. Smith, 1. Smimming Race, 75 yards, open to all—p Smith, 1: Moon, 2. Man Overboard ! (prize given by Mr. C. A. Tobin). —The boys had to be in the boat fully dressed, and to strip everything but shirt trousers, and socks. First in the water G, Soil, closely followed by Snolling and Uoon. Model Boat Race, under two-feet keel— Snelling's Flying Dutchman, 1; "Wilide'a Daphne, 2. The weather was very bad for this and the other model boat race, and bat feir kept their course. Canoe Race.—Prize given by Mr. F. J. Claridge. Kangiora to give 15 lengths. Coune, round the Arawa. A very easy victory for F. Smith, who stopped now and again to see how the others were getting on. Rylance's SomaIns, 2. Model Boat Race, between two and fonr-feet keel. —Harrop's America, 1; "Westwood's Ethel May, 2. The only boats who kept their coarie. The little America fully justified herfamooi naaie. Dingy Race. —Prize given by the Re 7. W. E. Peroival. Smith's Arawa, 1; Rylance's Truant. 2. Threo cheers for the head-master and Henri.
