PONSONBY REGATTA.

Of the many sports offered to the pnblic for patronage on Monday, the 14th April, the Ponsonby Regatta stood out prominently in the foremost ranks. The flagship, the s.s. Wellington, had her space taxed to the utmost, while Shelly Beach and other points of vantage were well patronised. That the committee worked bard to make their regatta a success was plainly to be seen, and their .efforts _ were most ably seconded by their indefatigable Secretary, Mr. D. F. Evans, and Treasurer, Mr. W. F. Jones. Open Sailing Boats, under 12 feet by measurement rule 26. Ist prize, silver cup, presented by Messrs.' Partridge and Woollams, valued at £5, and £3 added ; 2nd, £2.
