Boardmi,*, J.P/a.l Assault. — Joseph Melville Rainbow, charged with being drank, was alio charged with assaulting Ed warrf ShiUington.LibrarutD of the Free Public Library. He pleaded nob gnijty to being drank, but admitted that hej might have struck Mr. Shillington in. selfdefence. Mr. Shillington deposed that at four. o'clock in the afternoon prisoner was asleep in the Pnblio Library. *He was no 6 sober. He made it a habit to come to the Public Library to sleep off his drunken sprees, and witness woke him, and ordered him out. He refused to go, and witnessijrat him but, - upon which accused struck him over the eye. Witness struck him back, and handed him over to the police. Sergeant Gamble, who arrested the,prisoner, Also gave evidence, and deposed that he -was very drunk. Accused was sentenced to tiro months'imprisonment, with hard labour, Wira Beating.—Henry MoGinri ,waa charged with assaulting his wife by striking and kicking her. Mr. E.
