EXPLOSION AT A POWDER MAGAZINE.
; [by telegraph.—sbbss association.] Dunkmn, Friday. A sbrious accident has again happened at the powder mill at Owake, in the Clutha county. At five o'olook on Wednesday afternoon William Mould, millkeeper, lilted the work charge, and laid a ''green one" down. He was in the set of removing the work charge to the charge houae, when the "green charge" exploded. The oharge he was barrying ignited at the same time. .His clothes took fire, but he. had the presence of mind to jump into the water-race, and so extinguish the flames. The upper put of his body, principally the chest and arms, were severely burned, and he had his collarbone broken by some timber falling on him. The mill building was completely shattered by the explosion. Work was only resumed at the mill three weeks ago, after effecting the repairs necessitated by the previous explosion. Mould was brought to the Dunedin Hospital. ."'. - ■ .-.- '-/"."'■"." ■•' .
