MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF A CHILD.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Friday. Yesterday evening a child named Anne Pane Carr, four years old, was found by its mother lying insensible on the road near its home, Colombo-street North. It died in about two hours. Medical examination of the body showed that the brain had been injured, apparently by a wheel. passing over the child's head. _ An inquest was held to-day, but no evidence was elioited as to how the injury had been inflicted, and the inquiry was adjourned for a week.
