SPORTING.
PAPAKUEA RAGES. The above races, which take' place tomorrow on the pretty course situated on the estate of Mr. W. Waltere, promise to be in every way a success. Excellent acceptances have been received for the two principal events—the Cup and Hurdle Race—while the entries for the other events of the programme are equally satisfactory, and everything augurs well for a most enjoyable afternoon's sport. As yet there is no pronounced favourite for the Cup, but Radamea may be said to hold the pride of place, and the eon of Leolinus has been backed in conjunction with his stable-companion Minuet, for the Hurdle Race at sto 1. The Railway Department have laid on a special train, and it will leave the Auokland Station at eleven a.m., arriving at the racecourse in time for passengers to witness the first race, which is fixed for one" o'clock sharp. . The following are the names of the horses engaged in the various events :—
