PONSONBY REGATTA CLUB.
The (Jistrlbation of the prizes won at the recent meeting of. the above olub took place' on Saturday evening at the Ponaonby Club Hotel, Ponaonby. There was a good attendance,' Mr. T. T. Masefield occupying the chair, and on handing over the prizes to the successful competitors he took occasion to make a few happy and appropriate remarks to each. He also announced that the umpire (Mr. Stodart) had -not arrived at any decision re the protest' in the Senior Whaleboat Race, but that he had the intention of referring the matter to the Rowing Association'for their decision. The meeting terminated with the usual toast and votes, of thanks'to the Seoretary, Treasurer, Umpire,- and Starter, who were highly complimented for their zeal and the interest they had shown in the regatta; and also to the Northern S.S. Company for their kindness in lending the club the a.s. Wellington as their flagship, and to Mrs. and Miss Farquhar for the flags presented by them; and a special vote was accorded to the subscribers to the' regatta for their liberality. At the committee meeting of the club it was decided that , the roll of silk presented to the com-mittee-by the officers of the Japanese man-of-war Tsukuba be given to the hon. Secretary, £hd the address whioh accompanied the gift be given to Mr. Masefield. The address is in Japanese, and Mr. Masefield intends to have it framed and photographed, . and to eaoh of the committee a copy will be presented.
