MESSRS. GAINOR AND WEBB'S GRAND POPULAR CONCERT.

Messrs. R Warwick Gainor and W. H. Webb will give their grand popular concert this evening at the Theatre Koyal (Mr. W. H. Webb conductor), assisted by a number of loading local professional and amateur musicians. The programme is of a varied and attractive character. Mr. Gainor was first baritone in the Montague-Turner company, and is an artist of high rtpute. He has appeared in nearly all the capitals of Europe and the principal cities of Great Britain. The song, " I Sigh For Thee" has been written by Mr. W. H. Webb especially for this concert, for Mr. Gainor. Among other choice items on the programme we notice " The Rakozi Marach" (by Liszt), which will be performed, for the first time in Aucklmd, on two pianofortes by four performers, viz , Messrs. Angelo Forrest, Ralph Hood, Alfred Pooley, and W. H. Webb. The duet "La FUle du Regiment" (arranged by Thalberg) will likewise be performed for the first time, by Messrs. Ralph Hood and W. H. Webb. This is one of Thalberg's best arrangements. Mr. Ralph Hood has made an arrangement of airs from Traviata, with variations, for this concert, and will play the same as a pianoforte solo. The other instrumentalists will be Miss Clarice Brabazon (the child pianiste) and Miss Keturah Campbell, and the vocalists Mrs. Kilgour (who comes specially from the Thames), Mrs. Revitt, Madame Pooley, Mr. Joseph Hanna, and, as already stated, Mr. Gainor.
