MASONIC.
« PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE, S.C. The regular quarterly communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge, S.C, was held last night at the Masonic Hall, and was well attended by members and visitors. Brother the Hon. Sec, F. Whitaker, R.W.P.G.M., presided. The Senior Warden's chair was occupied by Brother A. Dewar, and the Junior Warden's by Brother McCullough. Brother Anderson, S.M., and Brother Rev. Mr. Gould, Chaplain, were also present. There was a very;large amount of general business, which was, however, greatly simplified by the fact that the P.G. Sec, Brother James Slater, had placed in the hands of the members printed reports. Those consisted of the Secretary's report for the year, the minutes of the meetings held during the year, and the annual balance-sheet. Tbeße were prepared with great care and scrupulous exactness. The worthy Secretary was on all sides warmly congratulated on the successful and intelligible manner in which these facta had been collated and presented to the members. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Brother R. Kay, P.G., Treasurer; Brother Powles, SD. ; H. Ellis, J.D.; Director of Ceremonies, Brother Hutchins ; Marshals, Brothers Wilkinson and Luxford ; Architect, Brother J. M. McLaren ; Jeweller, Brother Roberts; Bible Bearer, Brother Symorjs ; Standard Bearer, Brother Briggs ; Dance Music, Brother Dr. Walker. President of Grand Stewards, Brother Greenaway, V.P.; Brother Forgie, J.G.; Brother Bulford ; Tyler, Brother Tonge. The principal officers of course retain their position. In addition to the routine of business, the Grand Lodge conaratulated the R. W.P.G.M. on the honour of knighthood conferred ou him by Her Majesty, and also entered on the minutes, the deep regret of the Grand Lodge at the death of the late Brother T. Rawdon. These are referred to in another portion of the paper.
