GRAMMAR SCHOOL SPORTS.
The annual Grammar School sports were held on the Domain Ground yesterday. Notwithstanding the threatening state of the weather all day there was a good attendance of parents and friends of the pupils. His Worship the Mayor and Mrs. Clark were on the ground at the close, and the Lady Mayoress distributed the prizes to the successful competitors.- The masters of the school, backed up by a good committee of the boys, were indefatigable in makiug the day's amusement a success. G. Tawhai carried off the school cup and also a handsome watch for securing the greatest number of points in the events of tne day. There were two racea on the programme for " old boys," which were won iby K. Wood. A band was in attendance and enlivened the proceedings.
