A foreign contemporary says that the carriage w.hich was u>ed by the Duke do_ Montpensier at thu coronation of tbe Czar is probably the most remarkable specimen of the coachbuilders' art in the ivorld. It was built more than a hundre'l 3 c.irs ngo, and is constructed mainly of the ueces»ary metal framing being of richly chased Eilver. The interior is fitted in bine velvet, embroidered with the arms of Caati't and Arragon ; and beneaththo hammercloth there is i a, musical box, which was designed to play as the carriage went forward, but which is now out of order and cannot be repaired. The carriage last appeared in public upon the occasion of Kinjj Alphonso's weddinp ; but itbas figured at all the great State festivals at Madrid during the last three generations, and ia regarded as almost forming a part of the Spanvah' eg alia. ;■ ;■ —f ■ ■ '■ . . , .■■■ .■ .
