[FROM OBR OWN CORRESPONDENT. J Thames, Saturday. Seymour.—The rise on No. 1 leader—that ia the lode west of the shaft—is up 25 feet. The leader has improved within the past few days, and is now fully two feet wide. Colours of seen occasionally, . Northeast of No. 1 lode a leader, which was intersected in, the cross-cut, has been risen on 40 feet At first the country and reef were disturbed, bat improved upward. Last night, however, what appears to be a clay slide was cat, from which a great quantity of water flowed. Work is suspended here for the present, but the water is decreasing. That quartz ia overhead is. shown by the grit which is shed from the iilide. Caledonian. —The fire, although'not ex-' tingaiahed, has been hemmed in,. Tho company's workings in the Bed Queen section are now clear, and v the f contractorshavej;:re- ; sumed driving in No. 2 level. 1 G-ilobn Orowk. —The manager has erected a clay wall across No.' 1-level, about 50 feet from the shaft, thus confining the Bmoke to that portion of the mine towards the Caledonian. Men are now. at on the shaft leader, but in no other portion of the mine. Deep Level Cross.—Gold was .seen in both winzes to-day. The. cross reef in.the drive seaward is a large body of quartz, .but no gold haß yet beenEeenin it. Prince Imperial.—Some strong colours of gold were seen in the leader in the. .winze to-day. The lode is small,, but the .country is oi an excellent class.The specimens, are being crushed, about. 12cwt...being 5 already through the battery, and ■ they are yielding satisfactorily. Da' WIN. —The shaft- is down about. 127. ; feet, and is passing.. through favourable country. A leader, about four, inches , wide was passed through Its,course' appears almost north.and. south, and .it. is. nearly vertical, but as it was. found in a corner of the shaft, very little can :be, said: about it. Good mineral-indications are seen, in the quartz, but no gold has .yet. been : found. .... ■ ' ■ ■

Dvkt. The lode at ,Noi.2 level is nine to ten feet wide. The quartz ill kindly, well mineralized, and dabs of gold have been seen freely. A few pounds of stone, almoiit good enough to be classed as picked stono, are on hand. The manager intends to drive a the footwall of the lode. . Gold has been carried in the winze from No. 2 level, which is down 15 feet. It is being sunk on the footwall, and only 3 feet of,quartz are being broken down. The battery started crushing this morning. London. —An old winze having been cleaned out to afford.ventilation, a contract has been let for driving on No. 2 lode, No 4 level, at 15s per foot. Nothing has been done in the winze in No. 1 lode this week. A winze in No. 2 leader will soon be started. Mariner. —A cross-cut from No. 4 level has holed through to the winze eunk upon the cross-lode from No. 3 level. ' Driving upon the leader has just been started, and no breaking down has yet taken place. KOBANDI Hill.— In working in No. 9 lode in Kelly's section some strong dabs of gold have been seen. In the drive on the lode in the Belfast section, the reef and country continue to bear a favourable appearance.

Alburnia.— Cross-cutting - i;i proceeding eastward and westward from the low level to catch two leaders, which by survey should be 40 or 50 feet away. One of them is the Hatter's leader, well known in the early days. Redben Parr.—The manager, after steering through an intricate and very narrow channel of country, some degrees softer than the exceedingly hard rock on either side for mouths has, be fancies, at last emerged into more favourable ground. No improvement has yet taken place in the lode, but he did not anticipate any until beyond the influence of the hard bars.

Queen of Be DTr Extksded.—The following report has bceu received from tho mine manager:—Since date of last report in No. 10 level northward the contractors have driven 14 feet, making a totul distince from the junction of Quuen of May reef 76 feet. The reif is improving both in size 1 and appearance. It is now 18 inches in thickness, with good mineral indications, and in a very good sandstone country. In the stopes above this drive the lode continues about the same size and appearance as when last reported upon, 3howing gold when broken down. No. 8 level, Vanguard drive : Contractor have driven 10 feet, but they are not making such good progress as the last party would have done in the samo good class of country. I have started 15 head at the battery on the quartz taken from the northward stopes, and will be able to know by the end of the week how it will turn out. The machinery and turbine are all in good working order.
