although fifteen years have elapsed since his last visit, which was in the ship Lady Egizida. He brings with him Mr. Tracy as chief officer, Mr. Bird as second, and Mr. Starkey as third, whilst the engineers are under the charge of Mr. Stafford, Mr. Allerburn being second engineer. She brings 2000 tons of cargo, principally for this port, and as soon as it is put out she will commence to take frozen meat. Her refrigerating machinery in in splendid order, so that she will at once be able to commence operations. The passage, which has been an uneventful one, occupied 51 days 22 hours from Gravesend to Port Chalmers, including four hours stoppages for repaoking the engines and allowing for difference of time. During the passage an average speed of 11 knots was attained, the lowest day's work being 200 miles.
