AUCKLAND AGRICULTURAL AND MERCANTILE COMPANY.
The first annual meeting of this compamj was held yesterday afternoon at the offices, 9 and 11 Queen-street Wharf. Present Mr. <j. \T. Owen (in the chair), Messrs. A. Dewar, J. Heather, J. Wallace, E . Ccx. Rollerson, John Thompson, J. L. Warton, D. H. MeKenzie, Thomas Wyli'>, L. J. B,agnail, nnd J. MeGowan. The Chsirmaii lead the directors'report, stating that the company had nearly but not quite tilled up th« year. The time stock was taken was on the 2nd of March, and the company was started on the 13th of March last yea.. 11>,0CC shares were represented. The report stated that the net profit and loss account war JL'loOO'2s Id, and after referring to the expen"ea of forminc the company and working it for the first year, considered it satisfactory. A dividend ot eight per cent, per annum was recommended, payable on the lOta of April. The balance-sheet was also submitted.
