j listened to with marked attention throughout, and it was evident that the rev. lecturer was intimately acquainted with his subject. The Messrs. Bartlcy Bros.,' assisted by several lady and gentlemen amateurs, rendered selections of vocal and instrumental music during the evening. At the conclusion of the lecture a collection was made towards the reduction of recent expenses incurred in making alterations and additions to the church in which the lecture was delivered. A very cordial vote of thanks wns tendered to the JRev. Mr. lieid at the conclusion of the lecture for the very interesting and instructive entertainment ho had given them. 0;i the 27 th December Sir W. Fox delivered a lecture on temperance ra the Good Templars' Hall, Onehunga. The chair was occupied by Mr. Fleming. The attendance was not very large, but appreciative. Various piecss of music were sung during the evening in a very tasteful manner.
