TflE annual meeting of the W aiuku liacing | Club was held 011 Thursday, the 2Sth instant. The weather was not; line for the occasion, slight rain falling most of the afternoon. There were between 300 and 400 people present. The racing was very fair, and no accident happened. The first race, the Handicap Hurdles, was to have started at noon, but it was More than licur after that time before the event came off. The batting was pretty even between the first theee horses, and it was a good race, Orakau winning by a length, and Winnie being about the same distance behind Maori. The winner was the favourite, and won rather easily. Gkeymoutii, Saturday. The races to-day were very tame. The weather opened threatening, and deterred many, especially ladies, from attending, there being not more than 800 present. Midsummer Handicap : Lady Harris. Dan O'Connell bolted, nearly injuring a man and boy. Rawdon broke a blood vessel.

Railway Stakes.—Marie Stuart won after a capital race. Hordi.e Race : Two started—Orient and Whalebone. The latter won.
