Loxdox, Thursday.—Very successful observations of the transit of Venus were obtained in America, Capetown, Durban, and the "West of England. At Paris and Madrid the weather was cloudy, and prevented the contacts being distinctly observed. The transit wa* plainly viaible at Cork, but at the other stations in Ireland the sky was overcast.
