DOMAIN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Board was held yesterday. Present : Messrs. R. Walker (Mayor of Parnell); T. T. Masefield, C. S. Sutton, J. Bull, and T. Peacock. Mr. Bull was called to the chair. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. GOTKRNHENT HotfSE GROUNDS. — The Secretary of the Board of Grammar School Governors wrote : "I have the honour, by the direction of the Board of Governors of the Auckland College and Grammar School, to inform you that the Board has made an application to the Hon. the Minister of Lands, requesting the Government to sanction the alienation to the Board of a site, comprising one square acre of land in the Government House reserve immediately adjoining the piece in possession of the Choral Society. I have also tho honour to state that the Board of Governors will be glad if tho Domain Board will givo their sanction to any co-operation in tho application referred to." —Mr. Peacock said that the dealing with the question rested solely with tho Government, and it was agreed to reply to tho Governors, drawing attention to the Gazette. Plants.—Mr. Newland, of Ngarata, wrotu On the question of introducing valuableplants and helabore.—Tho letter was referred to the Garden Committee.
Overdue Rents.—Tlio Secretary intimated that rcut was overdue for an allotment in Graf ton-road. Twelve months rout was already due, and another half-year's rent would be due shortly. He was instructed to make application for payment, and if the amount was not paid to place the matter in the hands of the Board's solitor. Ranoek's Report. — The ranger, Mr. Goldie, reported on various matters connected ■with his department. The ram which supplied the gardens with water was out of repair. Repairs were authorised, also for 500 pots for plants in stock. He applied for two books. The application for the Treasures of Botany was referred to the Garden Committee. Accounts.—Current accounts were passed, and the meeting terminated.
