ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

A mk.f.tfno of the Acclimatisation Society was held yesterday afternoen. Present: Messrs R. C. liars tow (in the chair), Burtt, and Mackechnie.

Trout.—The Ch airman said that he had been informed by Mr. Hobbs that 350 young trout, which had been liberated in the Mangatawhiri stream, had done well, and when set free the young fish all swam away.—The Secretary said that these fish had been fed in .Auckland for several weeks before distribution.—The members of the society present agreed that it was desirable to feed the young fish :or several weeks before they were placed in the streams. Breaches of the Animals Protection" Act.—A letter was received from Special Constable Parker, reporting several convictions neainst persons for breaches cf the Animals Protection Act.—lt was agreed to reward Constable Parker in accordance with the scale fixed by the society.
