POLICE COURT.— TCESDAV. {Before Messrs. James Baber and F. L. Prime. Dkcnkknnfss.—Charles Oddy, a ycunp inan who had been under treatment several days for ilflirium tremens, was placed in the dock charged with this offence. Mr. Robert Browning appeared for the informant. Mr. Theophilus Cooper :.jipe--.re<i for Mr. T. T. Masefield, who clair~ed to be owner of the property referred to in the information. Mr. S>. Hesketh appeared for the defendant, and took objection to the information, on the ground that it continued several offences, instead of one specific charge. Mr. Browning applied for leava to amend the information. The Bcnch declined to allow the information to be amended. Mr. Browning said, as the Bench declined to allow the amendment, the information would be withdrawn. It was not improbable the plaintiff would have to proceed by indictment. Mr. S. Hesketh applied for costs. The Bench declined to allow costs.
