BASQUET TO MR. ARCHIBALD FORBES.
[BY TELEGKAPK. —PItKSS ASSOCIATION.] Doxukdin', Tuesday. The Forbes banquet to-night given under the auspices of the Caledonian Society was attended by 00 or 70 gentlemen. Amongst those present were the Hon. \V. Reynolds, Messrs. Bathgate, Fish, Bracken, and Rutherford, Ms.H.R. ; Mr. Larnach, Mr. Stout, and many of the leading men of the city. Mr. Bathgate proposed the toast of the evening in a happy speech referring to the many gifted men of the Forbes family for generations past. Mr. Forbes, in reply, made a humorous speech, which was greatly applauded.
