INSTITUTION* OF THE REV. G. H. SOMERSET WALPOLE, M.A., AS INCUMBENT.

(The new incumbent of St. .Mary's arrived in Auckland yesterday by the mail steamer Australia. He was received by the Bishop of Auckland and Mre. Cowie at Bishop's Court. At half-past seven o'clock the ceremony of institution took place in the church. There was a large congregation. The attendance of clergymen was also large. Amongst them we noticed the Ven. Archdeacons Maunsell and Pritt, the Revs. T. Burrows, R,. Kidd, LL.D., Dr. Purchas, B. T. Dudley, Tebb=, Haselden, SmallSeld, Gulliver, J. Bates, C. M. Nelson, T. F. King, J. K. Davis, H. Da vis, and P. Walsh. The clergy having formed in processional order in the vestry entered the church by the southern door. The Bishop took his place in the chancel.
