ARRIVAL OF THE MANAPOURI.
The U. S.S. Co.'s s.s. Uanapouri, Captaia T. Logan, arrived in harbour shortly after the R. i|. s.s. Anstralia yesterday morning, with a large number of passengers and a general cargo. Tho Manapouri is from Melbourne, via Southern ports. Captain Logan reports having left Melbourne on the 22nd ult., reaching Hobart at 3.30 p.m. next day, and the Bluff at 5 p.m. on the 27th ; Port Chalmes on the 28th at 7.30 a.m. Sailed again'on the 30th at 4.40 p.m., arriving at Lyttelton on tho Ist, Wellington on the 2nd, Napier on the 3rd, and Gisborno on the 4th ; leaving for Aucklaad at 9 a.m. same date. Hounded the East Cape at 3.50 p.m., and from thence until arrival strong N.W. winds with head sea was experienced. The llanapouri left again for Kuasell last evening.
