Nkw Corby.—The proprietors of this miuc, which it is intended to turn into a company, are getting everything ready to make an <;arly start. .Mr. ;>:iowden, one of the original prospectors, who lias purchased an interest, lias consented to tako tiie mine m&n&gcment. It is his intention to let a ■contract for I*o feet of driving from t i ' bottom of the -JO feet shaft, to cut Scotty s reel, from which the Kapanga are getting such rich specimens, and which, according t j survey, is identical with the Corl<y reel, that gave such good returns a year or two a 'o. Mr. Snowden alio intends to start blocking out from the Corby low level, it being his impression that the whole block now opened up will pay to put it through the battery. Liold iias been seen at dillerent times by the contractors in driving the Corby low level. From tins position of this property, and the well known charactci of the dillerent reels, it is confidently expected ere long to turn out one of the lirst goldproducing mines in the Ooromandnl di^liict. Little gold was seen in stripping it down, lhe quartz has the same appearance as in the levei above where the last good patch of gold was got. I have no doubt now hut tins is the gold-bearing portion from the kin.ily appearance of the stui!'. A short di.-tance further will i ring us underneath where the good patch of gold was got. Something good may come to hand from here at any time. .Scutii drive : I have done but little in tins since my last. I his drive is near up to t.ie Tiki Company's boundary. Morning Star section 50 feet level : The leaders on which we are driving and stoping have improved lately, showing gold more freely.' Our other workings are without change to note. Nkw Union Beach. —The new manager {Mr. Climo) after examining the various workings, reports that he has found the place where the cross reef has branched oil", and advises prospecting in the intermediate and SO-Icet levels, and is of opinion the company will shortlv tiud payable gold. In a 1 utter report Mr. Climo states that he fca3 been piospectiug a leader on the SO-feet level, whicii he believes to be payable, as it shows strong colours of sold. This leader has not been worked below the above level. He also intends to open out on a leader that went into the footwall, where tho cross reef was lost on the SO-feet level, going north. Both Tangye and plunger pumps are working well.

[[FROM OCR OWN CORF.ESrONDENT ] Thames, Monday. Prince Impf.ri vl. —A start was made on Friday night to sink the shaft a further lift of 90 feet. Two shifts a day only will be employed on this worK, viz., the afternoon and night shifts. During the day shift the engine will be employed in winding. It is the manager's intention to sink the shaft with wage 3 men a sufficient depth to allow of timber being put in, which will be about the end of this week. After this tenders will be invited for the completion of the job, as also for the driving of the cross-cut towards the Mariner's reef, so that next week will see both these jobs in contractors' hands. Stoping is being pushed ahead in all parts of the mine, and a sufficient supply of quartz is coming to hand to keep 12 head of stampers going full time. Picked stone and specimens are constantly obtained, but not in sufficient quantity to report. It is worthy of note that since tho new Prince Imperial Company was formed the mine has yielded £13,100 odd worth of gold, £9000 of whicii has been declared in dividends. When the contracts for sinking the shaft and driving the cross-cut are let, the monthly expense of •working the mine will not exceed about £600, so that about 250dzs. per month will cover all expenses.
