VITAL STATISTICS.
The vital statistics for October are as follow :—
The deaths of persons not residents of * boroughs occurring at hospitals have been excluded ill all cases. The total births in the above boroughs amounted to 487 as against ' 461 in September, an increase of 20. ' The deaths amounted to 181 in October, \ an increaseof 16 on the number for September, s Of the deaths, the males contributed 101 and i the females SO. SI of the deaths were of Jl children under 5 years of age, being -14 "75 a per cent, of the whole number. 5 of these •were of children under 1 year of age. c
