GOOD TEAMPLARISM.

A demonstration, under tlie auspices of the Good Templars, Kechabitcs, and Temperance Societies, was hold on Nov. t). Ihe following Bands of Hope tool; part in the demonstration :—Onehniiira (170), Now ton Congregational (70), Arch Hill (90), Ponsonby Wesleyan (100), Pousouby Baptist (52), Parnell (120), Alexandni-btrcet (79). St. DavidV, Tuakau, and Eilerslie, and representatives froin others. There was a total strength of about SOI). The Good Templarsand the JuvenilcEuchubitcs were represented. The various city Lauds of Hope and thesocieties inarched in procession (headed by the Kngtneer Baud) to the DriU-shed. Tile country Bands of Hope (headed by the Naval Band) joined the procession ia Qiseenstrcut. It was proposed to hold the demonstration in the Domain, buto.ving to the wet weather it was deemed desirable to hold it in the Drill-shed. The procession arrived at the Drill-shed about 10.00 a.m., when games of various kinds were started for the children, refreshments being distributed at intervals. In the afternoon the Bands of Hope marched in procession through the towu, headed by the Naval Baud. Several of the banners were of excellent design. The procession marcliud back to the L'riil-shed, and after tea lia.l betu taken, thu company was dismissed. Captain Leroy acted as Field Marshal during the day. A temperance service of soug, entitled

"Buy Your Own Cherries," with orchestral accompaniment, was performed in the Theatre Royal in the evening by the Auckland Baud of Hope Union choir. There was a very large attendance, especially in the stalls and pit. There was a strong muster of members of the choir. The Rev. W. G, Watkin was reader; Mr. R. Tudehope, conductor; and Mr. W. S. Hampson, organist.
