Safvet Pasha is appointed Foreign Minister, and Husin Paslia Minister of War. The tendencies of the new Ministry are decidedly Anglophile. I ILLNESS OF MR. FAWCETT. London, December 1. Consols, 101-J (sic; ex cliv. ?). Bank rate of discount remains at 5 per cent, and the market rate at 3£ per cent. The total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is eleven millions, being half a million more than last week. The proportion of the reserve to liabilities is 42 per cent. New Zealand securities are without quotable change.Colonial breadstuff's are unchanged. Adelaide ■wheat, ex warehouse, is quoted at 49s Od; New Zealand ditto, at 44s to 475, and Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, at 345. Off-coast cargoes of New Zealand wheat are quoted at 42s 6d. Australian tallo-ir : —Best beef, 425; best mutton, 44s Gd. [Received December 4,1 a.m] London, December 1. Consols remain at 1011, ex div. New Zealand 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 104f ; 5 per cent. 18S9 loan, 104 ; U per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 102+. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,150,000 quarters, being 20,000 less than last week. Adelaide wheat, ex ■warehouse, rarnains at 49s 6d. Nevr Zealand wheat has declined to 42s 6d. Adelaide flour, ex store, is quoted afc 34 s. The total stock of tallow in London to-day is 13,200 casks, being an increase of 200 casks compared with the stock last month. Australian tallow is unchanged at 42s for best beef, and 44s Gd for best mutton. At to-day's wool sale 5700 bales were offered. Prices wore somewhat firmer. The English Government has. decided to prosecute William Redmond for sedition, and reouire Michael Davitt and Healy, M.P., to find security to be of good behaviour, or in default, be imprisoned. ANOTHER MURDER AT MAYO. A constable has been shot in County ! Mayo. I ARABI'S SENTENCE. The Daily Newa states that a compromise has been arrived at in respect to the trial of Arabi Paslia. He is to plead, guilty to a charge of rebellion, and will be exiled, but will retain his sword, rank, and emoluments.
