SINGULAR CASK OF KLEPTOMANIA.

<> OiiKAT excitement has been caused in Frank-furt-on-the-Main by the arrest of a popular favourite upon a charge of theft. No less a person thau the well-known ttmor singer Joseph Eisenlmch, a niymbor of the opera company in Frankfurt, and formerly of Berlin and other European capitals, is now in gaol. For some time a scries of thefts have been perpetrated in the dressing-rooms ot the Frankfurt Theatre, and suspicion had fallen, unjustly in e;icli case, upon various servants oli thestageof alow:rcl:is3. .Nothing, however, could be traced homo to any suspected or watched. Actors -ir.u actresses, upon returning from tho stice to their dressing ri>oms, found that small articles of value had been abstracted from the pockets of their ordinary clothes—watch=3, money, rings, or jewellery, l.nst week one of the .".stresses discovered th.-.t her jewel-case had been burst open while she was occupied on the boards, and that some very valuable jewels, upon which she set great store, had been stolen. She went straight to the Police Court and insiste.l upon a strict search being made, not only amongst the class of persons ordinarily suspected of such thefts, but all round. The result took evcryon-3 by surprise. One of the stones was found in Hcrr Eisonbach's possession, and th« police discovered that lie had I ecu in the habit of sclling-or pawning similar articles.
