Queen of Bkautt. —Cleaning up for the month took place to-day, .and resulted in a yield ot 210ozs. lOdwts. of gold, for which ■ 426 loads of general quartz had been treated. Old Caledonian.—s4 loads of dirt have been put through the battery during the month, resulting iu a yield of 54ozs. 6c}wts. of gold. Wiitkkacri No. 2.—Three parties of Iributcrs, accompanied by the company's manager, Mr. Kelly, arrived in town last evening with gold. The following are the separate returns :—Huntly and party crushed 73 tons for lllozs. of gold ; Hollis and party 48 tons for 7iUuzs. or gold; and Cornes and party, 45 tons for SlAozs of gold. Mr. Kelly expects to be down again in a fortnight with about 300ozs. for Moran and party, tributers. Butler's return will be down before Christmas. Pki.xCk Imperial. — Cleaning up and retoring was finished this afternoon, and resulted in the handsome return 0f27400z5. of gold For this 30ewt. of specimens (yielding JSOOozs.) and -70 loads of general dirt (yielding 9400z5.) were crushed, making the grand average of lOozs. to the load. The work of sinking the shaft will be made during the night. The reef has been broken down up to the Cross boundary, and has yielded good picked stone since passing t'irougli the small break. Sixty pounds of specimens have been received since his last, and this reef is thicker. Every time the reef ! is broken down, a litcle gold can be seen in it. ' Deep Level.—The mine manager, under ' date 2Sth ult., reports as follows : Since ' my last a reef has been cut in the south drive at the G4O-feet level. It is about 3 feet 6 inches in thickness, and is the best looking ' reef that I have seen in this level, being well 1 defined. Some of the stone is of a very 1 kindly nature, and looks well for gold. The ? reef would be well worth driving on when the coutracter gets the face of the cross-cut I far enough advanced to be out of the way. Navy.—The mine manager, under date 25th ultimo, reports that the stripping of the surface of the reef in No. 3 Navy is being 1 continued and that for the last tifty feet a ' little gold has been obtained, but it is not payable. c New Colonial.—Under date November J 25th the tnine manager writes that driving is ' still beiue; carried on and colour of gold got )n most of the distance (40 feet) driven, some fair prospects of loose gold have been ? ibtained from a reef met with on the face of 1 ;he drive.
