Commenting upon the recent production of 50 tonß of sulphuric acid by the New Zealand Drug Company, the Engineer says :— " It appears that sulphur can be obtained in almost exhaustless quantities on White Island, an active volcano near Tauranga, so that sulphuric acid ought to have become a profitable speculation without a bonus to start it."
