[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDKNT.] Cokomandel, Friday. RACES. The races were very poorly attended. The Coromandel Brass Band, under Bandmaster Lonergan, performed various pieces of music. PeisLioAXs' Purse.—Mills' Diver, 1 ; Hohepa's Maori Win, 2 ; Corcoran's Hardie, 3. Pony Race fell through, there being no entries. Coromandel Handicap.—Mills' Diver had a walk over. Hordlks.—Hohepa's Young Kaituna (T. Hudson), 1. Brennan's Hardie (Troy) and Corcoran's Rawenata (McCarthy) also started, but neither of them got inside the distance. There was no Consolation Race. regatta. The regatta was very well appreciated. The s.s. Coromandel was the flagship, and was kindly placed at the services of the committee by the directors. The weather was very good. Ist—Four Oars. Prize, 40s.—Wilson's Water Lily, 1. 2nd—Sailing Boats (20 feet). —Gorilla, 1. 3rd —Sailing Boats (under 20 feet). — Countess, 1.

4th—Pair Oar.—Eva, 1. sth — Pr/NT Race.—Culpan, 1. 6 th—Dock Hunt.—Caused much amusement. It was won by McGuire. 7th—Grbasv Boom.—Won by T. Campbell. Bth—Swimming Match.—Maher, 1, Thus ending one of the best day's sports ever held in Coromandel. CRICKET MATCH. The cricket match Coromandel v. Alpha resulted in a victory for Coromandel. In the first innings Coromandel obtained S4 ; Alpha, SS. Coromandel in the second innings made 3-t, and the Alpha, with six wickets to fall, in the second innings made 15. The stumps were drawn at 6 o'clock.
