[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWK CORRESPONDENTS.] Thames, Tuesday evening. Gold Returns. — Cure tribute, Kendall, 25ozs. ; Kuranui tribute, Hodge, 1630z5. 17dwts.; Coliban claim, 1290z5. Kuranui.—Hodge and party, tributers in this mine, have completed a crushing of 20 tons of general stuff for the excellent return of 1630z5. 17dwts. of melted gold. Coliban.—Hunter and party, proprietors of this claim, have crushed twenty-two loada of general stuff for the excellent return of 1290z5. of gold. Cure.—The winze on Brownlee's leader sunk from the intermediate drive has been connected with No. 1 level, giving good facilities for breaking out quartz. Kendall and party, who are tributing in the mine, have crushed thirteen loads of general stuff for the return of 25ozs. of melted gold. Caledonian. —The return for this company is not yet in, but it is expected to be about 200ozs.

The following mine managers' reports havo been received :— Union* (Tiki). —During the week in the low level the reef is coming together again, and making a nice body of stone about six inches wide, and full of mineral. There is a big stream of water coming out of tho face for the last few days, which indicates we are not far from a cross leader ahead somewhere. In the winze in the upper level I have not seen gold for the last week. There is a junction of four leaders coming together in the bottom, and until I get through those leaders, I do not expect to get any gold' until the cross leader gets defined again, and separate from the others. Blackmore's people Agreed to let me have five head of stampers about Wednesday next to crush my stuff, so I will be able to finish it this week.—Tnos. Cahroll. Blackmorb'b (Tiki). —Xo. 1 reef : The stopes on this reef aro yielding a large quantity of crushing. stuff, with fair gold showing occasionally. Winze, - west end : I montioned in my last that the reef had beoomo very much broken, and there appeared to bo a break in the lode, to prove which, in the beginning of the past week, I had a had a tmall drive put into the footwall a distance of 7 feet, and a hole drilled in the face 4 feet further, without meeting with any quartz. Then, in commencing a drive on the hangingwall side, I met with a small leader, which I believe to be the continuation «f the reef above, so that I have re-commenced sinking again, in the hope of meeting with a good body of gold-bearing stone below. No. 2 reef: I re-commenced work on thi# reef in the open cutting on the face of the hill where, in the hangingwall of this reef, I found a great number of small quartz leaders, all more or less goldbearing, aad in blasting down the face of the hill, £ found it very difficult to separate the quartz from the mullock, so I thought it would be advisable to send a few tons of the whole lot to the battery, to see whether it would pay to take tho whole lot in a face before us. I sent about 20 tons, which only averaged about sdwts. per ton, which is not quhe enough to pay. But, lam of opinion that, with a little more prospecting in the hangingwall of this reef, that we will discover another large body of fiat reef stoneNo. 3 reef; The winze on the boundary is down a depth of 35 feet. The reef averages 2 feet thick, ot very good looking stone, with a litt!e gold showing at times. In the drive going north, there is a body of stone 3 feet thick, which looks very well for gold. I have started to riso up at the point of intersection \rith the crosscut, for the purpose of commencing to scope both north and south- Crushing : The general scuff is shaping for about the same average as last, "We will clean up towards the latter part of the week. The mine will be closed for the Christmas holidays, after Saturday next.—William Stratigram, Tenders are invited by Mr. W. H. Hales, District Engineer, until the 28th instant, for repairs to the quarantine station at Motu Ihi.
