AUCKLAND CITY SCHOOLS COMMITTEE.

The usual fortnightly meeting of Mae Auckland City Schools Committee took place last evening. Present: Mr. . Gorrie (in the chair), Messrs. McNab, Scmidt, Thwiiite?, and Wayniouth. Vaccination IN Public Schools. - Air. Harrison, headmaster Beresford-atreet school, forwarded a protest- from D. Hargrares against his children being vaccinated at school. Mr. Harrison stated a rumour had been circulated among the childran th:-t all the pupils attending the public schools were to be operated upon by the Public Vaccinator, and that the fear of such a visitation had seusioly diminished the attendance at school. Mr. Gorri© stated that he had already communicated with Mr. Harrison, informing him that the committee knew nothing of the matter, and certainly would not permic vaccination in the schools or compulsory vaccination. How-street School.—Miss Annie Revell tendered her resignation as assisfcant-te.icher at the Howe-street School, as from the end of the presftnt year, which was accepted. Correspondence.—Letter from Board stating that the following three members of the Education Board will retire on the .'3lst March, 1882:—Messrs. J. M. Clark, F. J. Moss, and T. Peacock.—ln the mouth of March next an election would be held for the purpose of filling the vacancies caused by the retirement of the above members.
