Informations have been laid, and summonses taken out, against the two men who were dismissed from the Taranaki Mounted Rifle corps, for appropriating articles when searching the whares North of Waitara for arms. Hiroki was breught up this morning, charged with stealing a double-barrelled gun and other articles, the property of W. Taylor, of Waitotara. After th"> evidence or Air. Taylor and a nativa wiinesa, Uvj prisoner was committed for trial. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Vernon contract, being extension of the ficton and Blenheim line f *varda ti.j South, has been accepted. The gold duty amounted to £730 12s lid ; beer duty (excise), £63 10s 6d. Ths emigration during the month, was equal to 36 3tatute adults. CHRISTCHCJRCH, Wednesday.
