The following are the acceptances for the Melbourne Cur, ahandicap sweepstakes of 20-sovs. each, 10 ft., or 5 only if declared before 4 p.m. on Monday, Bth August, wit 500 added. The winner of the A.J.C. or V.R.C. Derby to carry 6st. 121bs. if handicapped below that weight, and the ■winner of any handicap race of the value of lOOsovs. after the declaration of the weights to carry 31bs. extra; of any such race of the value of 200sovs., 51bs. extra ; of any such race of the value of oOOsovs., 71bs. extra. At the Victorian Amateur Turf Club meeting to-eay, the race for the Caulfield Guineas was won by Wheatear by half a length ■ Royal Maid, 2; Topaz, 3. The programme of the Waitara Jockey Club annual races appears in another column. Tke races take place on the Ist January. There are no fewer than nine events on the programme, the highest money being the AViitara Jockey Club Handicap, £75. The nominations for the handicaps close on the 19th November, the weights to be declared on the 20th November, and acceptances and general entries have to be made on 21st December.
