Affairs at Parihaka are evidently (j raW] - towards a crisis. The Native Minister hi been to see Te Whiti .at Parihaka, but ij. obtained no satisfaction from him. There' no possibility of talking him over, Rollesfcon has returned to Wellington a ' parently for the purpose of expediting t? military preparations. Apparently th« e are to be on a mcst extensive scale, for a \y ? lington telegram informs us that the Govern ment have sent to the volunteer officer in all parts of the colony asking for volunteer, for service. In this respect the proceeding of the Government are somewhat mysteriouT for when a number of good men volunteered in Auckland a few days ago, they would a'' accept them. The natives are not making preparations for war, and apparently have™ intention of fighting. To all appearance the Government have the intention of assemble a force so large that they will be able to lie fend every point, and secure all the settler against any sudden raid of the natives A force will then march on Parihaka and bruk up the settlement, by making prisoners of al! those who may be liable to any char&
