MOUNT HOBSON DOMAIN BOARD.

A special meeting of the Mount Hobson Domain Board was held yesterday at the office of Messrs. B. Tonks and Co. Present: —The Mayor of Auckland, Meesrs. S. Morrin, J. L. Wilson, and D. B. Cruickshank. Mr. Cruickshank was called to the chair. The Chairman said the first business was in regard to the letting of the Domain pastures. The lease expired in a month. It had been let for £10 a year.—The Mayor thought it should be leased by auction on the same terms as lastyear.—lnreply to the Mayor, the secretary, Mr. D. B. Tonks, stated there was £20 in hand.—Mr. Morrin thought they should offer a prize for the best landscape plan of the Domain. He thought £10 would be judiciously spent in that way.— The Mayor thought they ahonld rather remedy the appearance of the place by sloping the gravel pit, so as to make it less dangerous.—lt was agreed that the pits be fenced and sloped, and planted with trees, the Mayor and Mr. Morrin to supervise the work. —Mr. Baber submitted a plan of the Domain. There was an encroachment of the road which would interfere with the Domain entrance, and it was agreed to call the attention of the Remuera Road Board to tho subject of retaining access to the Domain.
