AUCKLAND RAGING CLUB.

Tub annual meeting of the members of the Auckland Racing Club was held yesterday, at the office of the club. There was a good attendance of members. On the motion of Mr. T. Morrin, Mr. James Dilworth was called to the chair.—The Secretary (Mr. W. Percival) read the annual statement of accounts. The ibalaneo-sheet of the club showed :— To Mr. T. B. Gillies, loan, £5000; creditors, £213 4s 10d ; nominations, Derby, 18S1, £3G; Derby, 18S2, £62—£98. Total creditors, £5311 4s 10d. Dependencies for future, added money Mare 3 Produce Stakes, Derby, 18S1, £200; dependencies for future, added money Marea Produce Stakes, 18S2, £200; Mans Produce Stakes, ISS4, £100.—total, £500. To capital account, 30th June, 1860, £2281 2s Id; to income and expenditure, £425 163 sd— £2700 18s 6d-total, £BSIS 3s 4d. By debtors, £206, of which £ISO was from unpaid subscriptions. Property—racecourse, £5500; grand stand, £2000; other property, £100— £7600.:, Cash in bank and in hand, £212 3s 4d—total assets, £SOIS 3s 4d; dependencies per contra, £500—total, £8518. The accounts were certified to by Mr. Waymouth, auditor? 3 who reported that the balance and income and expenditure account was not ao favourable as last year by £330, but that this was caused not by any decrease in the prosperity of the club's operations, but in consequence of increased liberality to the proprietors of horses and in other ways. The expenditure amounted to £1-428 4s 3d, including £416 Ss 8d for interest, and £200 for secretary's salary.. The receipts were: —By annual subscriptions, £622 ; rent of course, £67 ; summer meet-: ing, £2427 IGs Gd; summer meeting ex-: penses, £1879 ISs 4d—£547 I,Ba 2d ; annual meeting, £1032 2s 3d ; annual meeting expenses, £894 16s 2d—£l37 6s Id ; training fees, £10 ; autumn meeting, 18S4, £44— £142S 4s 3d. By balance, £425 16s sd. —Mr. J. Cosgrave proposed, and Mr. Thos. Morriu seconded, the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, which was carried unanimously. , • ■ Election of Committee.—The following gentlemen were proposed as committee men : —Major George, Mr. Jas. Russell, Mr. J. KirUweod, Mr. S. Morrin, Mr. W. J. Marks, Mr. \V. McLaughlin, Mr. J. Hammond, \lr. J. Mowbray, Mr. Buller, and Mr. J. Ellis.—Mr. Banks asked the question whether the committee was limited to twelve ?—The Chairman said that the rules stated that the committee should consist of twelve.—Mr. Banks : But the rales do not state that we] may not have more.—After a good deal of discussion it , was decided that notice of motion should be ! given of any proposed alterations in the rules. The matter was, however, allowed to drop. The election was then proceeded with, and resulted in the following gentlemen being returned :—Mr. J. Kirkwood, Major George, Mr. James Russell, Mr. W. J. Marks, Mr. S. Morrin, and Mr. "VV. McLaughlin.—A vote of thanks to the chairman terminated the meeting.
